Today, the Principals of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism) — President Graciela Gatti Santana, Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, and Registrar Abubacarr M. Tambadou — were honoured to participate in the 30^th Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica, held in Potočari, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), where they paid their respects to the victims and survivors of the Genocide.

Today, the President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT), Judge Graciela Gatti Santana, participated in a special discussion with young legal professionals at the Sarajevo Information Centre on the ICTY, organised by the Association ‘PRAVNIK’ with the support of the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP).

The Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP) participated in the event Resilience and Memory: Srebrenica 30 Years Later, held at BOZAR in Brussels, to commemorate 30 years since the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica. Organized by the European External Action Service (EEAS), the event brought together diplomats, civil society leaders, journalists, academics, and students to honour the victims and reflect on the role of culture, memory, and justice in post-conflict recovery.

To mark the upcoming 30th anniversary of the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica, the European External Action Service (EEAS) opened today two exhibitions at its headquarters in Brussels: Memento: Fragments of the Srebrenica Genocide, produced by the Post-Conflict Research Center, and Srebrenica: Timeline of a Genocide, produced by the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP).

The Registrar of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism), Mr. Abubacarr M. Tambadou, concluded an official visit to the Republic of Rwanda (Rwanda) from 22 to 25 June 2025, as part of the ongoing close cooperation between Rwanda and the Mechanism.

On 11 June 2025, the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP) welcomed to the Mechanism's Hague premises students and professors from the University of Sarajevo Law Faculty, many of whom previously participated in the MIP's Inter-University Video Lecture Programme (Programme).

Today, Prosecutor Serge Brammertz of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism) addressed the United Nations Security Council regarding the work of the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP).

Today, the President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism), Judge Graciela Gatti Santana, presented the Mechanism’s twenty-sixth progress report to the United Nations Security Council (Council) in New York.

The Prosecutor of the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT), Mr. Serge Brammertz, and the Prosecutor-General of Rwanda, Ms. Angélique Habyarimana, announced today that their increased cooperation is achieving results in justice for crimes committed during 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

The Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP) participated on 29 May 2025 in the Festival of Reconciliation in Novi Sad, Serbia, organized by the Association Kulturanova. The festival aims to encourage young people from the region to think critically about peace, reconciliation, and interculturalism, and is funded by the European Union.
