The President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism), Judge Graciela Gatti Santana, is conducting a four-day visit to the Republic of Rwanda.

Opening Statements in the case of Prosecutor v. Félicien Kabuga are scheduled to be heard on Thursday, 29 September 2022 and Friday, 30 September 2022, at 10:00 CEST/11:00 EAT in the Courtroom of the Hague branch of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism). The Trial Chamber is scheduled to continue the case the following week, when it will commence hearing the presentation of evidence on Wednesday, 5 October 2022 at 10:00 CEST/11:00 EAT.

On 18 August 2022 the Pre-Trial Conference in the case of Prosecutor v. Félicien Kabuga was held in the Courtroom of the Hague branch of the Mechanism.

Today, the former President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma, visited the Arusha branch of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism). His Excellency was joined by Mr. Sheriff Mahmud Ismail, Special Executive Assistant to His Excellency; Ms. Franya Elisabeth Cabral-Ruiz, Advisor to His Excellency; and Mr. Marx Chocha, Assistant to the Consul of Sierra Leone.

The President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism), Judge Graciela Gatti Santana, today concluded her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) where she participated in a series of events marking the Twenty-Seventh Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica.

The new IRMCT President, Judge Graciela Gatti Santana today participated in the 27^th commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide held in Potočari.

Today we commemorate the 27^th year since the Genocide that took place at Srebrenica. The systematic execution of almost 7,000 men, including young boys, and expulsion of women, children and elderly men, was an outrage to the world and a devastating tragedy for every relative who lost a father, a brother, a cousin, or a son. Some families perished completely. We remember the victims, but also those they left behind with such terrible sadness. They are foremost in our minds.
