Introduction

This section provides an overview of the cases before the ICTY and the Mechanism concerning the crimes committed in Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992. It also contains a selection of archival material and the videos produced by the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP).

Seven persons have been convicted before the ICTY and the Mechanism for the crimes committed in Višegrad:

One accused person passed away before the verdict could be handed down (Slobodan Milošević).

Remember Višegrad Crimes

The IRMCT remembers the victims of crimes committed by Bosnian Serb forces in Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 1990s conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, including the survivors who continue to bear the physical and emotional scars of these horrific events. Take a moment to watch the harrowing testimony of the sole survivor of an attack on at least 60 civilians in the Bikavac suburb of Višegrad on 27 June 1992, who escaped being burned to death.
