Security Sergeant Nduku of MICT Arusha Branch Awarded DSS Under-Secretary-General’s Excellence Award

Ms Judith Nduku, a Sergeant with the Security Section of the UN Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals - Arusha Branch - has been awarded the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) Under-Secretary General’s Excellence Award.

The Excellence Award recognises individuals and/or teams that have consistently demonstrated, through the application to their responsibilities, work requirements, mission operation, role or collaboration within UNDSS, excellence in the pursuit of UNDSS activities, encompassing United Nations core values to the highest level, and serving as a role model to others.

Mr Peter Drennan, the Under-Secretary-General of the DSS stated that Ms Nduku merits this award for her “outstanding role during the establishment of the UNMICT Arusha Security and Safety Service. [She] exemplified the image of a strong leader and supervisor who has contributed to the success of the entire Security and Safety Service”.
