Introduction

This section provides an overview of the cases before the ICTY and the Mechanism concerning the crimes committed in Bruška, Croatia on 21 December 1991. It also contains a selection of archival material and the videos produced by the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities (MIP).

Two persons have been convicted before the ICTY and the Mechanism for the crimes committed in Bruška:

• Milan Martić and
• Milan Babić.

One accused person passed away before their verdict could be handed down (Slobodan Milošević).

Remember Bruška Victims

"The Militia Krajina, Martić’s men. Open up. And I could hear I heard a burst of fire outside the door." Witness Jasna Denona testified at the ICTY trial of Milan Martić, describing the events of 21 December 1991, when members of the Krajina Militia killed ten residents of the village of Bruška in Croatia. Denona, then just 15 years old, was seriously wounded.
